Principal Scientist - Oligonucleotide Chemistry

Our client, a fast growing start-up seated in Tübingen, is focusing on a unique RNA-targeting strategy. They develop a novel class of oligonucleotides to enable RNA base editing for changing genetic information.

Their vision is to make their technology available to patients with orphan or common diseases where only limited treatment options exist.

Starting as soon as possible, we are looking for an experienced Principal Scientist in Oligonucleotide Chemistry.

Your role :

• Provide leadership as well as guidance in the oligo chemistry unit
• Supervise oligonucleotide synthesis, purification and QC activities
• Design and execute novel synthetic approaches to oligonucleotide conjugates
• Engage in trouble shooting and optimization of existing processes
• Generate and review documents, including laboratory SOPs, material specifications, protocols, and work instructions.
• Present data and pro-actively communicate with other team members within the company as well as with external stakeholders

Your profile :

• PhD in Chemistry, Biochemistry or related with a strong focus on oligonucleotide chemistry
• Strong expertise and experience (>

3 years) in solid phase oligonucleotide synthesis, nucleotide modification and purification

• Creativity and strong in trouble shooting
• Team player with excellent communication skills in spoken and written English, German is a plus
• A work permit for Germany is mandatory
