The Role
As an Image Processing Ground Segment Operator, you will play a key role in supporting the engineering team responsible for transforming raw satellite pixel data into meaningful, orthorectified products such as reflectance, temperature, or emissivity information.
Your responsibilities will include supervising and managing processing systems and pipelines, including performing maintenance activities related to image processing.
You will serve as the first line of support for image processing and quality-related requests from customers, working closely with the business operations team.
Additionally, you will perform quality control, calibration, and validation procedures, as well as manually adjust customer orders and processing parameters for products that cannot be processed automatically.
Furthermore, you will contribute to improving operational processes and documentation to enhance product creation and related activities.
Location The position can be performed remotely from office locations or in any constellr office (Munich, Freiburg, Brussels, or Toulouse).
Remote workers shall be able to cover the working hours in the Central European Time zone. No shift work or on-call services are required at the beginning, but this requirement might be added over time.
About you
Required :
- Hold a university degree in spatial sciences (e.g., Geography, Cartography, Geodesy, Surveying, Photogrammetry) or a related field, and / or have experience in satellite data processing ground segment operations.
- Strong understanding of geospatial and remote sensing data, particularly in thermal (LWIR) remote sensing.
- Experience with data processing pipeline infrastructures and image processing procedures (Cal / Val, pipeline operations).
- Ability to document activities, identify gaps, and improve procedures through handbooks or guides.
- Quick learner with the ability to understand and operate processing pipelines.
- Strong communication skills with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
- Proficient in programming (shell scripting, Python), databases (SQL), and cloud infrastructure.
Nice to have :
- Experience in mission operations, ideally within Earth observation missions.
- Motivated, curious, and team-oriented with a can-do attitude, willing to challenge the status quo and bring ideas to life.
