As a Senior Solutions Architect (data engineering, analytics, AI / ML / DS, big data, public cloud), you will guide the technical evaluation phase in a hands-on environment throughout the sales process.
You will be a key part of the sales team, acting as a technical advisor, and working with the product team as an advocate of your customers in the field.
You will help your customers to achieve tangible data-driven outcomes through the use of our Databricks Intelligence platform, establishing a clear architectural vision and identifying compelling use cases, helping our customers realize value.
You'll grow as a leader in your field, while finding solutions to our customers' biggest challenges in big data, analytics, data engineering and data science problems.
You will report to the Manager, Field Engineering.
The location for this position is Munich.

The impact you will have :
- You will influence stakeholders at all levels through complex strategic engagements with the wider cloud ecosystem and 3rd party applications, ensuring they are excited by the Databricks vision and solution strategy.
- Be a champion’ for both customers and colleagues, operating as an expert solution architect and trusted advisor for significant data analytics architecture, design, and adoption of the Databricks Data Intelligence Platform.
- Engage with the technical community (both internal and customer) by leading workshops, seminars and meet-ups.
- Coach junior Solutions Architects and teams on use case prioritization and building technical champions.
- Together with your Account Executive, you will form successful relationships with clients throughout your assigned territory to deliver exceptional technical and business value.
What we look for :
- Know how to contribute to complex strategic customer interactions up to the C-level and sales lifecycle in a technical pre-sales capacity based on a 1+ experience in a similar role
- An ability to share technical concepts, including presenting and white-boarding
- Hands-on expertise with complex proofs-of-concept and public cloud platform(s) (AWS, Azure or GCP)
- You have experience with big data technologies such as Apache Spark™, Hadoop or Cassandra and are proficient in writing code in either Python, Scala or Java
- Cloud platform and basic cloud security / networking knowledge advantageous
- A minimum of a bachelor's degree in Computer science, Information system, Engineering, Data Science or equivalent experience through work experience
- Nice to have : Databricks Certification and deep hands-on knowledge in Big Data Engineering or DWH technology
