Customs & Tax Manager (m/f/d)
We are looking for a Customs & Tax Manager (m / f / d) for our client in the aviation industry in Cologne (Hybride). In this position, you will oversee customs and tax-related issues, enhancing and supporting these areas to ensure the seamless international flow of goods within the supply chain team.
Responsibilities
- Ensuring optimal support on customs, excise tax, and value-added tax-related matters as central contact person
- Ensuring proper declaration and clearance of goods at borders, adhering to legal requirements for approved customs procedures
- Responsibility for applying for customs and excise authorizations, independently processing inquiries and clarifying customs and tax issues
- Drafting responses to official audit reports during customs inspections
- Establishing, monitoring and enforcing binding business guidelines
- Developing customs and tax relevant processes and applications
- Advising internally within the assigned area of responsibility
- Advancing knowledge in customs law and corporate taxes, if necessary conducting internal training
- Communicating with suppliers and clearing agents for correct declarations
Qualifications
- Completed studies in economics, law, finance with a specialization in Customs and Excise Taxes and / or Value-Added Taxes, alternatively an apprenticeship with further training
- Relevant professional experience in the field of customs and tax, ideally in international trading or similar
- Profound knowledge of international customs, tax legislation and export control regulations
- Experience collaborating with customs and tax authorities
- Analytical mindset, proactive and solution-oriented approach, team spirit and the ability to adept in fast-paced environments
- Excellent English communication skills and advanced ones in German; proficient MS Office skills
- Ability to work in hybrid teams
