System Engineer

More than 350 banks, exchanges and authorities in 19 countries use our tailor-made systems daily with market data from our strategic partner company LSEG and over 250 other data sources & partners.

Our systems process over 15 million financial instruments from over 1.000 international exchanges and OTC sources while performing real-time calculations of ratios and algorithms for over a 3 Mio. derivatives.

Tasks

• plan, design and maintain our intercontinental network in six locations worldwide
• optimize our datacenter packet switching infrastructure for reliabilty, low latency and throughput
• keep our network safe with OpenBSD firewalls and connect to customers over leased lines and VPN
• extend and develop automated network configuration tools using 100% open source software (e.g. ansible, python)
• assist the team by taking part in a rotating on-call system (aboute one week in five, fully compensated)
• help with maintaining our 600 Linux servers (Debian 12, CentOS 8)
• broaden your skills by learning technologies like Kubernetes and Puppet

We encourage and support you with exploring fields of interest outside of your core skillset / responsibilites

• Work with a very experienced Linux team
• Enjoy a large degree of freedom in design choices
• Design a network delivering hundreds of thounds of updates per second to our customers

Requirements

• 2-3 years of experience with data center network operations (L2 / L3 switching / routing, leased lines, VPN)
• Programming experience in at least one scripting language (Python, bash)
• good Linux knowledge, familiar with command line
• experience in using monitorning systems (Icinga, Prometheus, Grafana)
• several years experience in on-premise and data center environments
