Principal Engineer for Technology Planning in Computing System (m / f / d)

The Principal Engineer takes overall responsibility of designing, undertaking and analysing information of current computing technology, inventing new technique with academic collaborators, solving the complex problems in future computing architecture.

Your mission

• Explore problems in computing and develop theories and models to address those problems.
• Lead to advancement and increased efficiency in multiple areas of computing system, including CPU, memory, domain specific architecture.
• Conduct fundamental research innovation with local elite professors.
• Take responsibility for local cooperation and link the product team with academic partners to convey product needs to research team and integrate research outputs into productization
• Maintain qualitative and quantitative collaborative resource maps.
• Excavate and identify high value external cooperative resources in industry and academia.
• Explore fundamental issues in computing system and develop theories and models to address those issues.
• Conduct technical insight for computing technology.
• Establish and maintain relationships with internal colleagues to identify emerging needs and research challenges.
• Define research direction and roadmap to research management teams for execution and implementation.

Your areas of expertise

• Ph.D. degree in electrical engineering or computer science.
• 3 5 years’ PostDoc or industry experience.
• One or more of the following technical background are highly demanded, and hands-on experience is preferred :
• Interconnect technology : knowledge and background preferably in various state-of-the-art interconnect protocols, e.g. NVLink, CXL, UCIe, or in some standard protocols e.

g. PCIe, Ethernet, TCP / IP and so on.

• Distributed storage systems : applications such as databases, big data, cloud computing, and system hardware, for instance, SSD & NVM, core architectures, large clusters, large-scale distributed storage system.
• AI architecture and system : LLM training, inference and deployment, large-scale AI training and inference system, architecture of AI accelerators of GPU and / or NPU.
• Strong communication skills.
• Fluent in English, and German is a plus.
• Advanced in power point and excel.
