Operational Excellence Director

We are seeking an experienced Manufacturing expert, ideally with experience from the shop floor up to the board room. This would be an excellent pathway for a management consultant to transition to an in-house role where you will liaise with multiple stakeholders and bring out the best in others to positively impact patients with unmet medical needs.
You should have experience leading manufacturing transformation projects, ideally with digital transformation experience, across regulated industries (pharmaceutical, biotech, chemical, healthcare etc).

Responsibilities
- Operational Excellence Leadership : Provide strategic leadership in the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of operational excellence initiatives within our pharmaceutical manufacturing operations.
- Regulatory Compliance : Ensure adherence to regulatory standards and guidelines, driving a culture of compliance and quality excellence in alignment with industry regulations.
- Process Optimization : Identify and implement opportunities for process optimization and efficiency improvements throughout the manufacturing lifecycle, from raw materials to final product delivery.
- Cross-functional Collaboration : Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including manufacturing, quality, supply chain, and R&D, to drive operational excellence and ensure seamless integration of best practices.
- Performance Metrics : Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness of operational excellence initiatives, providing regular updates to senior management.
- Training and Development : Develop and deliver training programs to enhance the skills and capabilities of manufacturing personnel, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
- Change Management : Lead change management efforts, ensuring successful implementation of operational excellence initiatives and fostering a culture that embraces change and innovation.
Qualifications
- Degree in Engineering or a related field; advanced degree (Master’s, MBA) preferred.
- 5 years of experience in operational excellence, with a focus on manufacturing.
- Lean Manufacturing expertise.
- Experience within a top-tier consultancy advantageous.
- Proven track record of successful implementation of operational excellence initiatives in regulated industries.
- Strong understanding of regulatory requirements in the pharmaceutical industry.
- Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and engage at all levels of the organization.
- Six Sigma or Lean certification is highly desirable.
- Professional German and English language (Spoken and Written) required.
