Senior Financial Accountant

Reporting to : Accounting Process Optimization Manager, EMEA Accounting Team : European Accounting Processes Summary of Main responsibilities :

• Develop European GAAP Accounting Center of Excellence
• Drive efficient GAAP to STAT process for Europe
• Responsibility for selected accounting and month-end close activities for all or a group of entities in Europe
• Drive harmonization of European Accounting Processes

Develop European GAAP Accounting Center of Excellence

• Develop in-depth accounting expertise in complex accounting topics, such as Payroll & Benefits accounting Intercompany profit elimination Deferred tax accounting Chart of accounts harmonization (global)
• Support in the monthly close processes of Lease accounting FX accounting
• Support regional accounting teams in review of pension accounting quarterly tax packages and deferred tax accounting
• Partner with Corporate Accounting and Corporate Tax to ensure consistent application of GAAP in Europe If applicable, drive implementation of new accounting guidance in Europe
• Develop easy access for all Accounting staff to GAAP rules and policies
• Develop training material for Accounting new hires and refresher topics as needed, and provide training to target audience

Drive efficient GAAP to STAT approach for Europe

• Annual review of GAAP to STAT reconciliations of assigned European entities to support Directors’ sign off of STAT financials
• Partner with Corporate Accounting and PWC to develop a European audit approach which is reflecting and utilizing the new European Finance structure in an efficient way

Responsibilities for all European or assigned legal entities :

• Ensure appropriate US GAAP lease accounting in compliance with Corporate Accounting guidance Enter relevant changes in SLAN Nakisa tool Manage and clear SLAN G / L accounts Drive issue resolution with Corporate Accounting
• Perform monthly closing activities within defined timeline, such as : Calculation and posting of various European accruals and reclass entries (e.

g. inventory related, warranty, deferred revenue, demo reclass) Calculation and posting of Intercompany profit elimination Foreign Currency Accounting

• Prepare monthly reconciliations in Blackline for all responsible G / L accounts (except certain deferred revenue accounts)
• Ensure appropriate documentation of all manual bookings or tasks in designated location in SAP, Blackline or Teams Channel
• Collaborate with various stakeholders (Regional Accounting, A / P, EHQ, Fleet) to ensure seamless and timely information flow in both directions

Drive harmonization of European Accounting Processes :

• Contribute to global A2R projects, such as Blackline enhancement projects, as well as European A2R initiatives
• Contribute to development of a harmonized and efficient cross charge process for cross country roles in Europe Prepare allocation matrix for European functions
• Develop and maintain a reliable and efficient process to harmonize the lease accounting : with EMEA Fleet team regarding relevant fleet changes with EMEA A / P team regarding booking of fleet cost invoices
• Maintain harmonized control matrices for Europe GM teams and ensure regular updates
• Develop documentation of processes within European Accounting team and ensure regular updates
• Identify and support opportunities to improve European accounting processes

Qualifications : Education :

• Accounting qualification
• Strong understanding of relevant US GAAP accounting topics

Experience :

• Minimum 5 years of experience in Accounting
• Big4 Audit experience, or equivalent
• SAP-FI, or equivalent
• Strong Excel and Power BI skills, or equivalent
