About the Role :

The Editor will be responsible for the German language editing of the book series "... for Dummies".

How you will make an impact :

  • Supervision of German-language book projects in the "... for Dummies" series, from author acquisition through preparation of the synopsis and costing of the project to printing of the book, management and project support of the authors.
  • Actively helping to shape the German-language book program for the technology sectors.
  • Editing of manuscripts, proofreading of galley proofs, writing of promotional texts.
  • Project management of translations, determination and control of necessary adaptations for the German-speaking market, control of translators and freelancers.

What we look for :

  • A university degree and ideally 6 years of professional experience in an editing office, ideally in tech publishing.
  • Enjoy working independently, developing your own book ideas and putting them into practice.
  • Linguistic skills, a good command of English, good project management skills, and an understanding of the financial side of publishing.
  • Enjoy working in a team and maintaining a friendly but firm approach to authors and translators.
