Your responsibilities

Reception acting as information desk :

Responsible for 24-hour service at reception and personally providing reception servicesProviding a high-quality, friendly place for passengers to go when they require tourist and general information or concierge servicesOrganising boarding and disembarkation in cooperation with the Hotel ManagerReceiving passenger complaints

Official tasks :

Daily checks of passenger and crew lists; issuing and sending departure noticesIssuing necessary documentsOperating the security system at reception

Personal tasks :

Drawing up duty rostersManaging and monitoring of subordinate staffIssuing pay slipsConducting appraisal interviews at the end of the trial period or seasonTraining / instructing staff and promoting staff with appropriate potential

Administrative tasks :

Responsible for general and office keys, office materials and printed matterTaking stock of office materials and printed matter at the end of each monthOrdering and monitoring office materials, all printed matter, computer systems and accessoriesMaintaining the Fidelio and MICROS systems; monitoring continual operational readiness of the entire on-board computer system in cooperation with the respective department on landSet up of staff in MICROS and FidelioCooperation with other areas

Accounting tasks :

Daily maintenance of reception cash book, checking and cashing up currency exchanges and passenger income with receptionMonitoring and implementing systemic currency exchanges and completing the reception cash book in accordance with the shipping line’s requirementsChecking / reviewing the reception cash register and accounts with the Hotel Manager once per voyageIssuing travel expense statements

Your profile

  • Successful completion of vocational training in the hotel industry and / or course of specialised study
  • At least two years of professional experience in a comparable position
  • Knowledge of Fidelio Cruise and Micros POS systems desirable
  • PC skills including Microsoft Office software (PowerPoint, Word, Excel)
  • Excellent knowledge of German and English, other languages desirable
  • Experience on board ship desirable
