Tower Cold Chain are seeking a dynamic Business Development Manager to spearhead growth in the DACH region, focusing on Germany, Austria, Switzerland.
Reporting directly to the Regional Commercial Manager, the successful candidate will play a pivotal role in expanding our market presence, fostering relationships with pharmaceutical companies, and driving revenue growth in the territory.
Key Responsibilities :
- Develop and execute strategic business plans to achieve sales targets and drive double-digit growth year on year in the assigned territory.
- Identify, prospect, and engage with key decision-makers within pharmaceutical companies to establish long-term partnerships.
- Utilise an in-depth understanding of the pharmaceutical supply chain to tailor solutions that meet client needs and solve logistical challenges and lead the development of compelling proposals, presentations, and pitches to prospective clients.
- Collaborate with internal teams to tailor solutions that meet clients' specific needs and objectives.
- Lead negotiations and contract discussions, ensuring favourable terms for both Tower Cold Chain and their clients.
- Collaborate closely with internal teams, including internal sales, key account management, operations and logistics, to ensure seamless implementation of services and maintain high client satisfaction.
- Maintain and manage strategic partner relationships to maximise customer value.
- Undertake relevant and ongoing research through direct engagement, web, trade shows to keep ahead of customer needs, new products and personnel.
- Monitor market trends, customer feedback, and competitor activities to identify areas for improvement and optimization.
Recommend and implement strategic initiatives to enhance business development processes and outcomes.
Build and maintain an accurate sales plan, forecast and pipeline through the CRM, ensuring timely updates to enable wider business support.

BA degree in business, sales and marketing, or equivalent experience

Industry Knowledge :
- Significant experience within the Pharmaceutical Supply Chain and its regulatory
- Direct and recent experience in cold chain management is advantageous.
- This industry knowledge can be derived from within the Pharmaceutical, Logistics or Packaging industries
Sales Experience :
- Experience in B2B technical sales, with a proven growth track record in developing business with both new and existing customers
- Experience of managing complex customer relationships straddling Procurement, Supply Chain and Technical functions to deliver sales
Skills and Training :
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills (fluent English and German essential)
- Strong interpersonal skills, effective collaboration skills, teamwork spirit and ability to build relationships with a globally based sales team
- Fluent in supply chain terms and concepts; including diagnosis, process mapping methodology, and decision-making cost drivers.
- Understands value based and consultative selling.
- Self-motivated with ability to work in a fast paced and changing environment
- A team player able to collaborate effectively to overcome challenges and deliver results
- Highly numerate
