We are scaling fast across Europe and investing heavily in smarter, faster and greener logistics solutions.

We are building an integrated transportation network across Europe and we are looking for a hands-on, forward-thinking leader to shape it.

Role Overview

As Head of Transportation for Europe, you will own the design, performance and development of JD Logistics’ transport network across the region. This includes everything from line haul and cross-border to last mile partnerships, fleet strategy and sustainability scaling. You set the roadmap, you build the structure, you bring performance discipline and you make sure we deliver with speed and cost efficiency across diverse European markets.

What You Will Own

  • Develop and execute the European transportation strategy aligned with JD’s global logistics network
  • Lead and scale multi country transport operations across road, rail, air and sea
  • Design the regional network model including hubs, cross docks, carrier mix and route plans
  • Build strong relationships with national carriers, cross border providers and external logistics partners
  • Drive continuous improvement through data analytics, automation and digital tools
  • Lead procurement, contracting and service level governance across carriers and fleets
  • Manage operational performance KPIs including on time delivery, cost per shipment and SLA adherence
  • Own the transportation budget and forecasting process
  • Ensure compliance and safety regulations across all European markets
  • Build, coach and grow a high performing transportation operations and planning team

What You Bring

  • 10 or more years in transportation, supply chain or logistics operations, ideally across multiple European markets
  • Proven leadership in large scale, multi modal transport management
  • Strong analytical mindset with the ability to solve complex operational puzzles
  • Experience in e commerce, retail logistics, parcel networks or 3PL / 4PL environments is a strong advantage
  • Skilled stakeholder manager who knows how to influence upwards and across
  • Fluent in English. Other European languages are a plus
  • A drive for innovation, efficiency and sustainability in transportation
