We are currently hiring a Machine Learning Scientist with a focus on Chemistry applications at our Science and Technology office. As part of the AI & Quantum Lab, this role plays a key part in how we leverage the latest innovations in machine learning and artificial intelligence for chemistry-related applications in the company. Our team accelerates the adoption of novel, state-of-the-art digital methods in machine learning and artificial intelligence throughout the business by demonstrating their impact via scalable implementations on our internal infrastructure. To support this mission, we are looking for a motivated and experienced machine learning scientist to join our team. In this role, you will drive our activities around developing, training, and using machine learning models, e.g., for chemical property prediction, reaction optimization, material development, and related applications. You will work collaboratively with other researchers and engineers to identify valuable approaches to apply these models and research best practices to improve and deploy them for internal use or help develop them into customer-facing products. This is a great opportunity to contribute to an exciting field of machine learning with impactful industrial applications.
The AI & Quantum Lab is part of our Group Digital Innovation organization within the Group Science and Technology office. Our team performs technological outlooks in the field of digital and AI to transfer innovative methods and models into the company. Who you are :
- Degree in Chemistry or a related field with a strong background in machine learning, or a Degree in Machine Learning / Computer Science with a strong background in Chemistry or a related field; PhD is a plus.
- Experienced in developing, training, and using machine learning models beyond textbook problems.
- Experienced in using scientific modeling and data analytics software libraries and programming languages.
- Experienced in using high-performance computing systems and / or cloud infrastructure.
- Always curious and open to discovering and evaluating new approaches and methods to tackle today’s problems with tomorrow’s solutions.
- Highly self-motivated to never stop exploring.
- Excellent at communicating and operating in an international environment.
- Bonus : Industry experience or a track record of developing and / or applying innovative machine learning solutions to impactful business problems.
