For our project site in Heide, Schleswig-Holstein, we are currently looking for a Senior Site Environmental Advisor to support our project team for the next two years as of now.
As the Site Environmental Advisor, you will be responsible for providing guidance and expertise on environmental regulations and sustainability practices for the Northvolt Drei project. You will assess potential environmental impacts, develop strategies for compliance, and offer recommendations to minimize environmental harm on projects.
Principal Job Duties & Responsibilities :
- To provide on-site support and advice to operational teams on all aspects of environmental management, developing environmental documentation, meeting legal and company standards, contract requirements and helping deliver a culture of continual improvement.
- Understand and work with Client to ensure contract environmental requirements are complied with.
- Identifies environmental opportunities and financial / programme / reputational risks to the project.
- Fully understands the German legal and Client requirements / conditions of contract, as they relate to environmental sustainability issues and advises the project teams on these.
- Production of Environmental Documentation and Deliverables e.g., Construction Environmental Management Plan, aspects, and impacts register
- Participate and conduct daily HSE meetings and inspections and conduct environmental audits to identify areas of improvement and assess compliance.
- Follow-up on site environmental issues.
- Monitor, manage operational activities, and be responsible for the daily delivery of the project’s environmental functions.
- Ensure that projects and operations comply with German environmental laws, regulations, and permits.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation related to environmental compliance, and initiatives.
- Ensure that on-site facilities follow Fluor environmental expectations.
- Tracking and closing out of HSE action items, including actions from internal and external audit findings as well as incident corrective actions.
- Investigate environmental incidents and support the business to implement controls to prevent repeat occurrence.
- Be aware of changes to standards and legislation and where applicable recommend changes to systems and processes.
- Deliver environmental training, promoting development of staff.
- Produce internal and external reports as required, e.g., case studies, environmental performance.
- Assist in the development of key performance indicators and management reports.
- Support the implementation of emergency drills.
