Job Description
In product development, you will work on Variable Turbine Geometry (VTG) development programs for the next generation of Gasoline exhaust gas turbochargers. Starting from the first concept idea based on derived TC system targets you will take over the technical ownership in a cross functional team of experienced development engineers until first customer SOP.
When developing the variable turbine stage you will approach the holistic overall behavior of the Gasoline turbocharging system and accompany the complete development process from the first concept definition, aerodynamic stage optimization, design implementation, procurement of qualified prototypes up to the definition and analysis of the mandatory validation scopes in simulation and testing. In this role, you will also be responsible for creating and maintaining all technical documentation and actively supporting supplier and customer projects in problem-solving activities to ensure a smooth transition to series production.
Roles & Responsibilities :
- Technical lead includes the planning, coordination and execution of internal / external development activities regarding VTG system layout with focus on the performance, robustness and cost target fulfillment in close cooperation with the program management
- Initiating and monitoring of all mandatory aerodynamic optimization, design integration matters including statistical tolerance stackup and test campaigns on gas stand and engine dyno to provide a high efficiency performance and mechanical robust system for the next generation of dedicated hybrid Gasoline engines
- Preparing, leading and concluding brainstorming workshops
- Ensuring technical feasibility with global supply base and production plants
- Definition and coordination of the required D-FMEA and DVP&R activities according to BorgWarner standards
- Creation and maintenance of all technical documentation, standards and reports from initial concept studies to application release and start of series production
- Communication of technical project progress and results achieved in high level management reviews
- Driving problem-solving activities during development phase and customer program launches applying professional supporting tools
