Hauptaufgaben
Serves as Engineering Technician (Electrical) working on electrical systems supporting telecommunications equipment operated by 2d Theater Signal Brigade in the European AOR.
Electrical systems may include low voltage cable distribution systems, back-up generators, frequency converters, uninterruptible power supply systems, medium voltage systems, lightning protection systems and climate control systems (HVAC).
Establishes preliminary plans or sketches for discussion with supervisor or subject matter experts. Serves as construction site and project manager for maintenance and new installation of power and backup power systems for telecommunications equipment and as such is responsible for execution oversight.
Monitors and inspects repair and maintenance and new installation work of contracted personnel on emergency backup power systems (generators and uninterruptible power supply systems) as well as control and communication systems and climate control systems (HVAC).
Travels to installation sites to coordinate activities with contractors, 2d TSB staff personnel and local entities (USAG DPW, Bauamt, USACE staff etc.
Conducts site visits to investigate current condition of facilities and systems to determine necessary technical data concerning modification, alteration, maintenance or repair or new installation projects.
In all phases or work involvement, consideration is given to energy conservation, environmental, occupational safety, and health regulations.
Applies a practical knowledge of engineering principles in assessing specific requirements, delineating engineering design and translating what is required to allow for accurate assessment of scope of work, cost, time materials, etc.
Performs other duties as assigned.

E&T Level IVB and IVC : A Meister Diploma or Staatlich gepruefter Techniker in a trades or crafts field directly related to the position;
PLUS 1 year of job related experience as defined below.
E&T Level IV A and D : not creditable for positions in this occupational series. E&T Level V : Graduation from a University or equivalent, e.
g., Fachhochschule, the Berufsakademie,or Technische Hochschule as Wirtschaftsingenieur, Ingenieur des Maschinenwesens, der Elekrotechnik oder des Bauwesens;
no additional experience required.
Job Related Experience : Experience must be directly related to the area of specialization of the position and must be at a level of difficulty that compares to the grade of the position.
Advanced journeyman trades and crafts experience that provided intensive knowledge of engineering principles, techniques, methods and precedents is a prerequisite, e.
g., experience as a technician, instructor, inspector, or mechanic that shows progression in theoretical and practical knowledge of the area of specialization of the position.
C-6a :
