Altius Talent is on the lookout for a motivated and results-driven Sales Manager to join a dynamic, small freight forwarder based in the Munich area, with a focus on the Bavaria region.
This is a pure sales role, where you'll be at the forefront of driving business growth by acquiring new clients and nurturing relationships with existing ones.
The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in sales within the freight forwarding or logistics industry, and fluency in both German and English is essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify, target, and secure new business opportunities in the international road and sea freight sector within the Munich area.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing clients, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction and retention.
- Collaborate with management to develop and execute a strategic sales plan tailored to the local market, focusing on both road and sea freight services.
- Conduct market research to identify trends, opportunities, and the competitive landscape within the logistics industry in the Munich region.
- Prepare and present compelling sales proposals, quotations, and contracts that meet the needs of potential clients.
- Regularly report on sales activities, pipeline development, and performance against targets to the management team.
- Attend industry events, conferences, and networking opportunities to promote the company and generate leads.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 3 years of sales experience in freight forwarding, logistics, or a related industry, with a strong focus on international road and sea freight.
- Fluency in both German and English is essential.
- Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets, with excellent negotiation and closing skills.
- Deep understanding of the freight forwarding industry, including international shipping regulations, transportation modes, and market dynamics.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate complex logistics solutions to clients.
- Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- A degree in Business, Logistics, or a related field is preferred but not mandatory.
