Financial Sector and Market Analyst (m/f)
We are seeking a Financial Sector and Market Analyst to cover a one-year leave, temporarily supporting our client's Financial Sector and Market Analysis team within the Chief Economist department.
The selected candidate will report to the Head of the Financial Sector and Market Analysis division.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Monitor and analyze financial market developments that impact financial institutions’ valuations and their ability to access market funding.
Detect and interpret signals from fixed-income and equity markets that contribute to market intelligence group discussions.
Regularly comment on market trends related to the largest financial institutions in the euro area and develop fundamental analysis for major banks.
Contribute to the development and use of databases, analytical tools, and models to provide insights into economic, financial sector, and market developments and related risks in euro area countries and globally.
Produce high-quality research on topics related to our client’s role as a crisis resolution organization, focusing on systemic and macroeconomic risks related to the banking sector and financial markets.
Support our client’s interactions with economic and research teams of peer organizations in Europe and globally, such as the European Commission, the European Central Bank, and the International Monetary Fund, as well as researchers and analysts in academia and financial market institutions.
Produce notes and reports to support the monitoring and analysis of economic and financial developments in the euro area.
KEY BACKGROUND & EXPERIENCE
Minimum of a master’s degree, preferably in economics, banking, or finance. CFA and / or PhD are considered strong assets.
At least six years of relevant experience in financial market analysis gained in investment banks, asset management firms, international financial institutions, central banks, or other relevant authorities.
Experience analyzing the banking sector and primary / secondary market information using public databases (like S&P Capital IQ, Fitch Connect, Bloomberg, Refinitiv Eikon, Dealogic, etc.).
Solid knowledge of data handling and statistical techniques are considered strong assets.
Ability to transform data into compelling and persuasive written and oral arguments.
Ability to draft technical documents and present information professionally and concisely.
Fluent in English, including good drafting skills.
