Legal Counsel

The Role :

We are looking for a passionate Legal Counsel responsible for Germany (and Switzerland / Austria) as a part of the growing European Legal & Compliance Team in a highly dynamic and international environment.

The position will be based in Düsseldorf

You will support the business of Xiaomi with your proven expertise and pragmatic, business oriented and pro-active advice .

Given the range of Xiaomi s business, the position will include all fields of Law and you will be required to step out of the comfort zone in a startup-like environment.

This position will directly report to the Head of Legal Europe with dotted line to the local management.

The offered Position is a great opportunity to manage the legal issues within the region with great autonomy and to contribute to Xiaomi’s expansion in the local market.

The position will include the following tasks :

• Legal Advice and Research on Laws and Regulations
• Draft, Review and Negotiate a wide variety of national and international contracts
• Drafting of Guidelines, Policies and Templates
• Review of Marketing Material and Marketing Campaigns
• Communication with Regulatory Authorities
• Coordination of disputes and claims, including managing external counsels
• Support in promoting the Compliance Program
• Support and advice to the finance, tax, sales and HR department
• Liaise with the HQ Legal Team
• Assist in the further development of the Legal & Compliance Department

Candidate Profile :

Mandatory qualifications

• German Law Qualification with at least 3 years PQE; however, we hire people not CVs, if you slightly under or more PQE than requested, feel free to apply and if you fit, we will find the right environment and career opportunity for you.
• Fluent in German (native) and English
• Strong commercial sense and pragmatism
• Being able to prioritize and handle tight deadlines

Candidates without the above mandatory qualification and proven experience / expertise cannot be considered.

Nice to have but not mandatory

• Prior experience within our industry
• Fully qualified lawyer / Volljurist
• Data Protection Experience / Qualification
• Any other language skills like Dutch, Spanish, French or Chinese.
