Your role

In the framework of the upcoming Doctoral Training Unit on Green and Digital Transitions in the Single Market (DTU-GREITMA), the Department of Law of the Faculty of Law, Economics and Finance (FDEF) of the University of Luxembourg is looking for a PhD candidate to conduct research in intellectual property (IP) law.

The doctoral researcher will be working under the supervision of Professor Dr Martin Stierle. The main task will be to prepare a doctoral thesis in the field of IP law.

The candidate is welcome to suggest a topic within the overarching theme of DTU-GREITMA.

The doctoral researcher will benefit from the training at DTU-GREITMA and will become a member of a collegial team of IP researchers at FDEF.

The Faculty is a vibrant European IP hub with a strong research profile in European IP law well-located in the proximity of multiple European Courts (e.

g., the Court of Justice of the European Union, the European General Court, the Court of Appeal of the Unified Patent Court).

Your profile

We are looking for a candidate with demonstrated interest in IP law. We are particularly searching for a candidate with the following professional and personal profile :

  • A Master's Degree, Diploma, State Exam or similar degree in law
  • Prior knowledge in IP law due to a specialization or study curriculum
  • Fluency in English; a good understanding of German and / or French, will be considered an advantage
  • Excellent communication and writing skills
