Main responsibilities :
As a Statistical Project Leader (Associate Director) in SIH, you will lead research on innovative design and decision-making approaches integrating advanced statistical methods or machine learning techniques, with minimal guidance or direction from a senior team member.
You will be accountable for predictive modeling, statistical simulations, and / or leading development of a tool for novel methodology, as well as providing statistical consultations on technical issues identified from projects / studies across multiple therapeutic areas.
Lead SIH contributions to the project stat deliverables of methodology and / or modeling and simulations that are included in the protocol, statistical analysis plan or agency briefing books with minimal guidance from a senior team member in SIH.
Act as a go-to person of applying advanced innovative designs or novel methods.
- Support a specific project that involves advanced innovative designs or complex statistical modeling and simulations or novel statistical approach as an indication lead statistician.
- Develop predictive models and simulations to extract actionable insights from diverse data sources to optimize study design and decision making.
- Promote and present the implementation of cutting-edge designs and methods at internal and external venues and provide internal trainings as necessary.
Drive the adoption of these approaches at study / project level internally and effectively convey complex statistical concepts to diverse audiences.
Ensure productive collaborations with other statistical project leaders, internal / external statistical methodology experts and other key stakeholders as necessary.
Represent our group when participating (and leading, if applicable) in key scientific or technology working groups or key cross function initiatives.
- Participate in professional activities, including serving as a contributing member (or leader if applicable) of working group(s) / committees / professional organizations, or serving as a scientific journal reviewer.
- PhD / MS in statistics or related discipline with typically at least 5 (7 for MS) years of related experience
- Proven success and track record of innovative statistical tool development or implementation, or good track record of independent methodology research, or applying machine learning techniques to solve drug development questions.
- Broad knowledge and good understanding of advanced statistical concepts and techniques, with the capability to quickly acquire knowledge in new statistical frontiers.
- Excellent R / SAS programming skills. Strong computational skill or knowledge in other computer languages or extensive statistical simulations experience is a plus.
- Demonstrated ability to represent wider organization in cross-company activities such as consortia or professional associations.
