The Fraunhofer Institute for Surface Engineering and Thin Films IST in Braunschweig offers motivated students the opportunity to work on a student thesis / research project on the topic Modeling of electrochemical and mechanical stress for All-Solid-State Batteries in the Process and Production Engineering for Sustainable Energy Storage Systems department from 01.06.2024.
What you will do
- Developing an electrochemically coupled mechanical model to simulate the stress generation in All-Solid-State Batteries
- Preparation and interpretation of simulation results
What you bring to the table
You are studying mechanical engineering, computer science, materials science or a comparable subject and fulfil the following requirements :
- Motivation to explore scientific challenges
- Previous experience with Comsol Multiphysics
- Preferable knowledge in All-Solid-State Battery systems
- Independent, disciplined and conscientious way of working
- Flexible, reliable and motivated
- Good handling of English as working language
