Hauptaufgaben

• Teach elementary students (Grades 1–6) core aspects of the host nation's culture, including its history, government, economics, anthropology, sociology, and geography, aligned with the social studies curriculum.
• Partner cooperatively with American teachers to plan units of study, shared objectives, and field trips that meet established organizational guidelines and match student performance needs.
• Maintain and update a diverse collection of educational materials sourced from both official curricula and the local host nation community to guide lesson sequences and community projects.
• Employ diverse, age-appropriate teaching methods—such as simulations, crafts, music, games, and audiovisual media—while providing basic language instruction to facilitate community interaction.
• Track student attendance and performance, frequently evaluate lesson effectiveness, and provide regular progress updates to assigned American teachers to adapt future lessons.
• Dedicate the equivalent of one school day per week to community outreach, arranging joint field trips, sibling-school exchanges, bi-national programs, and gathering local educational resources.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifikationsanforderungen

CH-1710-02:

Completion of at least first state examination (1. Staatsexamen) for teaching at elementary, junior or senior high school level. (German Cultural/Regional Studies, Social Science, History, German preferred).
