Business Unit Analyst - Chemicals (m/f/d)

Your tasks :

This role follows in detail two main objectives : global business analysis and optimization for our Business Unit Chemicals and the role as Product Owner of Power BI within the business unit.

This includes the following main activities :

Business Analysis & Optimization :

• Prepare business analysis and reporting packages for individual products & markets together with our chemical units, countries, sub-regions
• Creation of analysis and resulting recommendations for measures to secure and improve the profitability of the Business Unit Chemicals
• Assess Risk Management including Long-Short-Obligation, Capital Commitment on stock, etc.
• Set Up yearly Product Portfolio Analysis incl recommendation of action / implementation
• Performing variance analyses, providing quality commentaries, and suggesting improvements
• Evaluation of business cases and business models for commercial agreements
• Ad hoc analysis as preparation for management decision-making for commercial agreements
• Support global budgeting and forecast process on BU level
• Support preparation of the business unit reporting and in this context the analysis of the results of the Chemicals Business Unit (global)
• Creating, maintaining, and updating of commercial reporting dashboards

BU Business Intelligence / Power BI :

• Management of the Business Intelligence / Power BI landscape within the BU Chemicals and promotion of a global data-driven work culture
• Develop and lead BI initiatives incl. system interface management within the BU in cooperation with our corporate BI team
• Enabling a targeted data-driven and user-friendly business steering for various stakeholder groups.
• Training the BI solutions to stakeholders to utilize the potential of data and BI solutions to improve decision-making processes

Your profile :

• You possess of a bachelor s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, or related field.
• You already have experience as a Business Analyst or a similar role, ideally within the chemicals industry or distribution sector.
• For this role, you can provide strong analytical skills with the ability to gather, analyze, and interpret complex data sets.
• You are proficient in data analysis, modelling and visualization tools (e.g., SAP S4 / HANA, Power BI).
• Furthermore, you have excellent problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
• Your strong written and verbal communication skills support you in effectively convey findings to diverse stakeholders.
• Therefore, you also have the ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Profound knowledge of the chemicals industry dynamics and risk management complete your profile.
