Head of General Ledger (m/f/d)
Areas of Responsibility :
- Lead the General Ledger team, including Group Accounting functions, across the EMEA region
- Oversee and coordinate the preparation of individual financial statements for month-end and year-end close for EMEA entities in compliance with IFRS and HGB standards
- Liaise with financial auditors to ensure accuracy and completeness
- Drive optimization of internal finance processes and improve interfaces between the Finance Department and other departments
- Support and lead various accounting projects, ensuring alignment with business goals and compliance requirements
- Coordinate and manage group reporting and consolidation processes for the preparation of consolidated financial statements according to IFRS and HGB for EMEA entities
- Analyze, interpret, and reconcile financial statements and General Ledger accounts to maintain high standards of quality and accuracy in accounting
- Serve as the accounting business partner across the organization, advising on the appropriate accounting treatment for new business initiatives
- Coordinate and support external audits, including half-year and year-end financial statements
- Manage ad-hoc financial reporting requests based on management’s needs
Profile of Qualifications :
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Economics, Finance, or a related field, or a comparable qualification
- Extensive knowledge of accounting standards under HGB and IFRS
- Strong technical and managerial experience in finance, with a proven track record of leading teams
- Hands-on experience with the standardization and digitization of General Ledger processes
- Solid project management skills, with experience in leading international and interdisciplinary projects
- Proficiency in SAP and other relevant accounting software
- A proactive attitude towards continuous improvement, with strong analytical and structured thinking
- High level of independence, attention to detail, and commitment to maintaining quality standards
- Fluency in both German and English, with the ability to work effectively in an international team
