DEPARTMENT
The EMEA People & Culture function consists of 7 colleagues including the VP HR EMEA who leads the function. As a part of Vantage’s growth strategy, the P&C EMEA function is undergoing transformation to enable the business to scale and grow across EMEA.
The total headcount in EMEA is currently 1191 split between permanent & contingent workers, which is expected to increase over the next few years.
POSITION OVERVIEW
The role is a crucial part of the People & Culture function, EMEA. This is a new role we are recruiting for on an interim basis for 6 months to start with, with a possibility of extension to the interim contract or the role transitioning to a permanent contract.
This role will interface with the Senior Human Resources Manager, HR Generalist and stakeholders / business leaders. This role is crucial for maintaining a harmonious workplace and ensuring that the company’s values and policies are upheld in all employee interactions.
This role will oversee the relationship between the legislation & the organisation, the organisation and its employees.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS & DUTIES
- Own the execution of initiatives in location(s) in line with the employment legislation and any changes to the legislation.
- Identify gaps in compliance to rectify these, by collaborating with the SHRM & Director People Transformation.
- Identify risks and work with the Director of People Transformation on a plan to mitigate risks.
- Identify gaps in leaders / line managers knowledge to upskill them, by collaborating with Director People Transformation and L&D to prepare L&D interventions.
Conduct a review of the existing / open cases & lead on the process to close these.
- Lead cases related to disputes, conflict or other employee relations scenarios by being the first point of contact.
- Work with leaders to coach, support & guide them through scenarios related to conduct, capability & performance management.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to business leaders, developing close working relationships and providing guidance on a range of complex employee relations (ER) issues.
- Lead the end-to-end management of ER cases including high-risk complex ER cases, ensuring alignment with company policies and legal requirements.
- Proactively identify and address potential employee relations challenges, analyzing risks and impacts on the individual, team, and wider business.
- Develop and implement ER programs, policies, and procedures that promote a positive work environment.
- Handle employee grievances, conflicts, and complaints, ensuring fair and consistent resolution.
- Advise on people change programs, such as reorganizations, redundancies, and performance management initiatives.
- Maintain accurate management information systems to enable regular reporting and identification of trends.
- Increase visibility of ER in the business by holding briefings and updates with business leader
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Strong understanding of employment law and HR policies.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to handle sensitive matters with discretion and empathy.
- Analytical skills to assess risks and make informed decisions.
- Leadership skills to guide and mentor ER team members.
- Proven experience in employee relations or a similar HR role.
- Experience managing complex ER cases and advising senior management
- Experience of proactively embedding legislation changes / requirements in the organisation
- Experience of partnering with L&D function to create learning interventions for upskilling leaders / line managers
- A master's degree in human resources, business administration, or a related field is typically required.
