Innovation Lead (Business Development)

An exciting battery client is looking for an innovation lead to join their European team. You will be working alongside a passionate, supportive and diverse company, dedicated to the growth of its employees.

This is a customer facing role.

The Role :

• Incubate and manage innovation project from 0 to 1
• Manages individual, complex, cross-regional innovation projects on operational level Creates and aligns on project time schedule and financial plan
• Leading the development and polish unique value proposition-based offerings that differentiate the company from competitors while demonstrating the ability to navigate regulatory and legal nuisances
• Own the product-level P&Ls to ensure growth is sustainable & profitable
• Anticipate obstacles, effectively elevate issues and strategize solutions to complex problems that may arise during development to ensure the project is delivered on-time to specifications.
• Define the company growth strategies in targeted verticals, develop operational plans, and drive strategy implementation cross business units.
• Provide cross-business and cross-divisional leadership in the areas of strategy formulation, macro economy tracking, industry / market analysis, competitor benchmarking, etc.
• Identify growth opportunities in new industries, emerging technologies, business model, or services. Lead the connections between the company and startup, university, institute and external partners for innovation idea’s generation and development
• Work closely with local and global leaders to further enhance local capabilities of offering management, breakthrough ideation, and NPI GTM excellence
• Provide leadership, guidance, and coaching to other members of the companies commercial team
• Preferred Qualifications / Experience :
• PHD in Chemistry or Biological medicine
• Strong business acumen
• Must have 3+ years of BD experience and 2+ years tech-sales experience in Chemistry
• Min. 4 years of innovation management experience
• Strong leadership qualities to shepherd cross-functional teams from concept to launch
• Positive and pro-active team player with the ability to build positive and productive working relationships with many stakeholders
• Ability to manage several projects simultaneously and thoughtfully prioritize tasks while maintaining uncompromising quality to drive results
• Highly detail oriented to ensure quality of products and communication
• Creative problem-solver who demonstrates curiosity and strives for constant improvement
• Passion for, and understanding of, consumer behaviour and market trends
• Strong written and verbal communication & presentation skills
• High level of independence and resourcefulness
• Proficiency using project management software to schedule and document project activities
• Business fluent in English and Mandarin
• Ability to understand innovative technologies, companies and markets and the associated technological, market, legal and financial risks
• Relevant transaction experience, experience in the analysis and valuation of financial and businesses models
• Entrepreneurial behaviour, sense of initiative and problem-solving approach
• Ability to manage complex projects with multiple stakeholders and interests
• Strong verbal and written communication skills and presentation skills
• Excellent team spirit and collaboration skills
