Lead Android Developer (m/f/d)

What's the role?

In this position, you will be part of an international team, embedded in an agile development set-up in our software development center.

Your will responsible for shaping the future of Hilti CrewCenter solution and lead its Android application development.

In our IoT department we develop innovative Embedded Software Solutions, Mobile Apps and Measurement Technologies - through our technologies in application software we take our customers to the next level of the technological progress.

What does the role involve?

• You will drive evolution of Hilti CrewCenter solution, contributing with your broad experience and high level of expertise in the software development field
• You will work closely with Product Owners, UX Designers and Architects to refine product backlog and jointly translate defined requirements into technical solutions
• As part of a cross-functional Scrum team, you will lead development, testing and maintenance of CrewCenter Android application
• Within a group of Android developers, you will lead code reviews and establish guidelines, focusing on quality, automation and maintainability
• You will use your expertise to coach and mentor other Android developers in their daily work
• You will travel to our software competence centers located in Germany, India and Malaysia.

What you need is :

• University degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
• 10+ years of professional experience, with at least 7 as Android application developer.
• Profound knowledge of Android SDK. Experience with Kotlin, Jetpack Compose, Coroutines, Room DB.
• Knowledge of mobile design principles and interface guidelines. Experience with custom UI components.
• Familiarity with RESTful APIs. Knowledge of GraphQL is an added advantage.
• Ability to lead and define the technical strategy in areas like architecture, testing, performance, CI / CD.
• Experience in coaching and mentoring software engineers.
• Strong analytical, conceptual and problem-solving skills. Willingness to embrace change & new technologies.
• Proficiency in English and willingness to travel internationally.
