Main tasksBasic researchers and clinical scientists form functional and interacting research units at the University Medical Center Hamburg-Eppendorf and have recently acquired the DFG-funded research group (FOR 5705) NeuroFlame - Defense and Demise of Inflamed Neurons.

From January 1, 2025, this research group will investigate cellular and molecular aspects in inflamed neurons, in particular the calcium overload in neurons caused by excitotoxicity (Hermann et al.
