About the role :

We have a great opportunity for to join our Frankfurt office as a Business Development and Corporate Communications Manager.

Within this role you will be required to support the partnership in Germany with the delivery of a BD and marketing activities to promote the firm's brand building and expansion in the German market and identify business opportunities.

You will work with local stakeholders and the wider, UK based, business development team, to raise awareness of the firm and reinforce our reputation and brand whilst always maintaining high standards of technical excellence and client service.

Main duties and responsibilities

Assist the partnership in delivering BD and marketing activities including supporting individual partners or group activities, .

sector or practice initiatives, events and marketing campaigns

  • Create and manage marketing collateral such as brochures, service sheets and slide decks, using firm's house style and templates to create a consistent set of documents
  • Work with the wider BD department to access appropriate support, best practice and knowledge to the benefit of German BD objectives and activities
  • Manage and track BD budgets
  • Manage the relationship with and activity of the external marketing communications agency and its budget
  • With the support of the marketing communications agency, develop a communications and brand strategy and, in line with this provide high-quality content for the firm's website, social media channels, press releases, newsletters and event invitations, and manage press relations
  • Support the creation and implementation of business development and marketing communications plans, liaising with fee-earners and other parts of the firm as needed, ensuring alignment with wider firm strategies
  • Promote and champion client listening and associated insights
  • Support and embody consistently excellent client experience, aligned with the firm's Client Experience Charter
  • Liaising with the relevant communications manager in the UK, prepare legal directory and awards submissions, and communicate national and international rankings
  • Manage the CRM database InterAction, ensuring client information is accurate, using the data to analyse client relationships, target clients and to create / manage mailing lists.

Provide training and guidance to PAs and lawyers as appropriate.

  • Provide accurate financial, relationship and pipeline reporting and identify opportunities.
  • Research and present on market trends, hot topics and target clients, in a user-friendly format
  • Manage and support client relationship management
  • Manage and / or contribute to client pitches, bids and presentations
  • Attend and contribute to sector meetings
  • Support conferences, seminars and other external events
  • Procure marketing collateral and give-aways, liaising with the central brand team
  • Support the wider business development team as appropriate
  • Any other reasonable duties delegated by any Partner, Senior Manager or Group Support Manager of the firm

About you :

We are looking for someone who has the following key skills and experience :

  • Successful track record in business development within the legal sector or professional services environment.
  • Experience of driving, managing and evaluating key BD campaigns
  • Excellent organisational and project management skills
  • Demonstrable team player and advocate of the firm's values.
  • Experience of successfully dealing with and influencing senior people, particularly partners.
  • Ability to deal directly with clients and client representatives.
  • Commercial awareness and understanding of our clients' world.
  • A positive, can-do approach.
  • Flexible and willing to go the extra mile.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to think strategically and put plans into action.
  • Ability to prioritise and manage demanding deadlines.
