In Group Research & Mercedes-Benz Cars Development (RD), we are working on the automotive generation of the future. In the area of exterior development, we develop intelligent components and software-based systems that play a key role in shaping the exterior appearance of all Mercedes-Benz model series.

These include add-on parts, visual systems, lighting systems, energy carrier systems and materials technology. To ensure that we can continue to offer innovations in the future, we are looking for a student assistant to support us in further optimizing our products and developing new functions through data-driven insights.

As a student assistant in the field of data science, you will be part of a team dedicated to data-oriented development. You will support the analysis and processing of data in order to gain insights for the further development of our system.

Your tasks in detail :

• Support in the planning and implementation of data analysis projects
• Assisting with the analysis, conception and documentation of data-driven use cases
• Collaboration in the descriptive evaluation of data for product improvement
• Support in the creation and evaluation of big data / machine learning solutions
• Participation in the development and evaluation of data sources
• Assistance in the development of standardized processes and methods for data usage
• Insight into the co-design of the Big Data and AI strategy for RD / KE
• International exchange with our data partners in India, China and the USA

Qualifikationen

• You are enrolled in a degree program related to data science, computer science, mathematics, physics or engineering
• Ideally, you have basic knowledge of data analysis and experience in a programming language such as Python or R
• You are enthusiastic about the preparation and visualization of data
• You are curious about technical topics in the field of exterior development and would like to support your colleagues with evaluations
• An independent and solution-oriented way of working suits you
• You are a team player and enjoy working with others - but at the same time you can also pursue topics independently
• German (min. A2) or English (min. B2) are no problem for you
• You are familiar with common IT tools (such as Office, Teams, Jira, Confluence)
