Head of project development - Solar
A leading renewable energy company dedicated solar PV development are seeking a head of development to join them. They specialise in the development, construction, and operation of solar energy projects across Germany and beyond.
This role will be responsible for overseeing the entire project development lifecycle, from site identification and feasibility studies to permitting, financing, and execution.
They currently have a 72MW and 85MW solar project ready for development with a vast pipeline beyond that.
Key Responsibilities :
- Strategic Leadership : Develop and implement the strategic vision for solar project development in Germany, aligning with the company’s overall goals and objectives.
- Project Development : Lead the identification, evaluation, and acquisition of new solar project sites, ensuring alignment with regulatory requirements and market opportunities.
- Feasibility Studies : Oversee feasibility studies, including technical, financial, and environmental assessments, to ensure project viability.
- Permitting and Compliance : Manage the permitting process for solar projects, ensuring compliance with local, regional, and national regulations.
- Stakeholder Engagement : Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including government agencies, local communities, investors, and industry partners.
- Team Leadership : Grow and manage a team of project developers and land acquisition specialists
- Reporting : Provide regular updates to senior management on project development progress, challenges, and opportunities.
Qualifications :
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, Business, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in renewable energy project development, with a focus on solar energy.
- Proven track record of successfully managing solar projects from inception to completion.
- Strong understanding of the German solar market and regulatory environment.
- Fluency in German and English is required; additional languages are a plus.
