Civil Engineer
Our client is expanding its Owner's Engineering team to navigate the challenges of deep renewable energy integration, Energy, and Balancing Market Integration.
We are seeking an experienced Civil Engineer with robust project management skills to contribute to their mission.
Responsibilities
Define plant-specific requirements for HV substations, emphasizing civil engineering aspects.
Develop technical guidelines for the construction of HV substations.
Oversee quality checks throughout the HV substation installation process.
Control the entire technical implementation process, from drafting tender documents to contract awards and accepting deliveries.
Collaborate actively with project managers, preparing reports, budget forecasts, schedules, attending construction meetings, and placing orders under framework agreements.
Ensure technical customer requirements align with relevant guidelines and regulations, meeting safety standards.
Conduct comparative analysis of technical and economic alternatives, preparing groundwork for cost-intensive investment decisions.
Profile
Diploma or master's degree in civil engineering.
Several years of experience within infrastructure projects as a civil design & engineer, consulting engineer, or project manager for a contractor, engineering / consulting company, and / or employer.
Understanding of civil engineering requirements for power infrastructure projects, particularly outdoor and indoor HV substation design, HV cables support structures, buildings, roads, trenches, steel structures, and control buildings.
Experience in civil works planning, design, tendering, and supervision & quality control.
Capable of determining work scope for greenfield HV substations, as well as substation extensions & rehabilitation projects.
Experience and capability to lead a team of engineers in executing complex HV substation and transmission line projects in Germany and abroad.
In addition, experience in managing international development bank-financed projects would be an asset.
Furthermore, project implementation experience according to the HOAI.
Certification as a project manager and / or FIDIC engineer would be an asset.
Extensive autonomy and flexibility, with experience in the use of iTWO, SAP, and MS Office.
Lastly, fluent in English and German; knowledge of French and / or another language is an asset.
