The Role
As Utility-Scale Solar Project Developer (Late-Stage Focus) , you will take ownership of projects as they progress toward Notice to Proceed (NTP) . You’ll manage key milestones across permitting, interconnection, land, and stakeholder engagement, ensuring projects are fully de-risked and ready for construction or transaction.
The ideal candidate is a proactive problem-solver with strong coordination skills and a proven record of success in bringing large-scale solar projects to shovel-ready status .
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate late-stage development of utility-scale solar (and hybrid) projects in Germany.
- Oversee permitting, environmental approvals, and land compliance , ensuring all requirements are met ahead of NTP.
- Manage interconnection processes with grid operators, including technical submissions and cost negotiations.
- Collaborate closely with internal teams (engineering, legal, finance, construction) to maintain project timelines and budgets.
- Support project transactions and financing , providing due diligence materials and development insights.
- Maintain strong relationships with authorities, landowners, and stakeholders , ensuring transparent communication and issue resolution.
- Track and report project progress, risks, and key deliverables to senior management.
- Stay informed on market, policy, and regulatory developments affecting project development and execution.
Qualifications & Experience
Minimum 5 years’ experience in renewable energy project development, with a clear focus on late-stage or pre-construction phases .Proven experience in utility-scale solar PV projects within the German or wider European market.Strong understanding of permitting, grid connection, and land-use regulations in Germany.Excellent project management skills with the ability to manage multiple complex workstreams simultaneously.Fluent in German and English (written and spoken).Relevant degree in engineering, environmental science, business, or related field.The Offer
