International Legal Counsel

Role :
A challenging position for a contract lawyer supporting single-design projects in Germany, Europe, Africa, Latin America, and Asia dealing with all aspects of contract law and continuously evolving contractual concepts.
You will work in a local core team of contract lawyers who serve as cross function for the Andritz Hydro business divisions being subject to many different jurisdictions, Germany being one of them.
You will be negotiating complex project transactions, managing significant commercial disputes, and will be supporting businesspeople with robust risk assessments and a hands-on mentality.
The role will require substantial international travel and a class B driver’s licence. The focus of your services will predominantly be with the project and procurement teams working out of Ravensburg, Germany, but also with other teams in ANDRITZ Hydro’s European offices.
Profile :
You are a qualified lawyer graduated from a European law school with strong academics, a profound commercial background, and a visible record of German contract law .
The passing of the German second state examination would be a plus. You have 2 to 6 years of post-graduate experience gained in a reputable law firm or an international corporation.
Experience in infrastructure projects would be a great advantage.
You enjoy delving into complex project structures, public tenders, contract splitting, securities, consortia, and sub-contracts.
Moreover, you are a very good generalist, capable of working in various jurisdictions and of dealing with internationally applied standard forms of contract and other legal issues as they arise.
Experience with FIDIC Yellow Book, World Bank and NEC contracts are helpful.
You have excellent drafting and negotiation skills and are a good team player. Excellent German and English (written and spoken) is essential.
Professional usage of another language is a huge advantage. Moreover, experience with contract management concepts and details are beneficial.
