You’d be working for an American 3PL freight forwarder who have grown their European operations to 100 people over the last 5 years
They have offices in Stuttgart and Düsseldorf. So you should be based near one of these cities, although it’s up to you how often you’re in the office.
You'll need to be OK with travel, as the next branch will be opened in Hamburg.
You’d initially be managing a team of 17 people across Germany, but can delegate through several managers too. So you’ll need to leverage your existing leadership experience.
You’ll enjoy the opportunity here to grow and develop the German business, working closely with the (Germany-based) Managing Director for Europe to create and implement the regional strategy
The solutions sold here are 80% ocean freight, in General Cargo, Exhibitions and Shopfitting verticals. So a deep existing ocean freight knowledge will be essential.
You’ll be responsible for the P&L, so previous responsibilities for the financials of a branch / operation is essential. If you’ve managed both Sales and Operations before, then you’ll have a headstart
You’ll get to use your ability to make confident decisions, while finding solutions with the involvement of the wider team.
The existing teams works on quite a flat level, so dictators need not apply.
This is a people-focused business and you’ll be interacting with colleagues and customers in both German and English.
You’ll be compensated based on experience with a salary of €90k - €100k, plus benefits including a bonus of 5% based on the EBITDA
