Senior Manager Store Development Central / Cross Border - Europe (M/F/D)
Purpose & Overall Relevance for the Organization
This role is a key part of the Retail & Franchise Europe team and will drive retail projects with focus on construction.
Those projects will mainly be creating new stores (full price and off price) and remodelling existing stores in close collaboration with external GC’s and internal stakeholder.
By doing so, the position is responsible for maximizing the profitability of the Market Retail Portfolio by managing depreciation line & ongoing investments as part of the European Store Development team.
This position will be responsible for managing the Central / DACH Store Development (SD) to ensure all retail projects within the market are delivered to an excellent standard, on time, in budget with high Facility and Maintenance standards to be maintained throughout the store lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage multiple retail implementation projects assigned area the latest adidas concepts and tools with European processes, to deliver on time and in budget.
- Support the market F&M team to ensure stores are always presented to a high standard and all H&S protocols are met.
- Order Store Concept Hardware. Place orders in line with required lead time to assure in time fulfilment ready for flawless implementation.
- Work with procurement and the agreed finance polices and process to ensure all purchases and appointments are done in line with agreed market protocols.
- Working with the DSD, Arrange Due Diligence reports to accurately create capex and schedules to support the BPM process for new projects.
- Coordinate projects with the back-office teams within, Merch, VM, Opps, IT, Marketing, Real estate, Profit protection, Finance and supply chain to ensure projects are delivered on time to the highest possible performance standards.
- Create accurate capex, track costs through-out live projects without pre-approved overspend. Manage all budget costs and prepare final account reports upon project completion.
- Report quality issues in real time using provided standardized processes & documents.
- Train 3rd parties as required.
- Manage & sign off all installations per market, provide documentation with required detail including Operations & maintenance (O&M) manuals.
- Manage handover of all new and remodelled sites to retail operation team.
- Initiate reverse logistics of excess equipment.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Management ability and competency to manage landlords, architects, general contractors, external project managers
- Strong inside knowledge of process management of in store implementation, architects, regional sourcing, legal partners, and general contractors.
- Ability to maximize relationships with externals
- Ability to think strategically, define business opportunities and problems, collect, interpret and analyze abstract and concrete information, and create strategic, value-add solutions.
- Ability to travel up to 75% of the time, and in some cases with limited notice.
- Strong retail business acumen (operational and fiscal).
- Strong presentation and communication skills.
- Excellent negotiation skills and ability to influence others.
- Proficiency with MS applications (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and other computer software (Internet, POS Systems, etc).
- AutoCAD skills an advantage
- Ability to speak, read and write English fluently; additional language skills beneficial
Requisite Education and Experience / Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree (B.A.), with an emphasis in real estate or finance / MBA preferred.
- 4-6 years retail specific real estate site selection experience, preferably with a major retailer
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience managing / negotiating external consultants and contractors
