The Role

We are looking for an ambitious and dynamic agency market lead based in Germany to support Podean’s growth in Germany and the EU.

This pivotal role involves overseeing our operations in Germany, building and retaining a client base, hiring and leading a local team, and collaborating with regional and global leadership to unlock exponential growth in the German market.

Both crafting and implementing an effective sales strategy and partnering with clients to help them unlock their potential on Amazon and other emerging marketplaces through strategy, retail, media, and content initiatives will be key areas of focus.

This role will report into our Europe Managing Director, based in London.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Strategic Leadership : Build, develop, and lead a team in Germany in line with Podean’s regional and global vision and processes
  • Market Strategy Development : Craft and execute a sales and growth strategy for the German market focused on both driving revenue and client retention
  • Sales Target Achievement : drive revenue growth by meeting and exceeding sales targets.
  • Market Representation : Represent Podean in Germany, establishing strong business relationships and arranging business meetings with prospective clients and partners
  • Commercials : Work with potential and existing clients to scope out engagements that are both profitable and effective
  • Client Relationship Management : Partner with key clients to build trust, understand business needs, oversee various work streams, own written communication and calls, put together presentations and quarterly business reviews, and own the overall account strategy
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration : Work cross-functionally with sales, retail, media, and creative teams to drive holistically revenue and increase client satisfaction
  • Knowledge : Stay up to date on all things Amazon and other European marketplaces and communicate relevant updates, changes, and new opportunities with clients and the team
  • Innovate : Once the marketplace foundations are in place, partner with clients to innovate both on and off Amazon.

Requirements and skills

  • Proven leadership and working experience in sales, business development, or client development especially in Germany.
  • 8+ years of professional experience in eCommerce, digital media, or marketing
  • Working knowledge of the eCommerce environment in Germany with a focus on marketplaces including Amazon and the associated media, retail, and content offerings
  • Deep understanding of German business practices and culture
  • Commercial acumen
  • Thorough understanding of marketer’s challenges through relevant job experience
  • Expertise in sales strategy execution and strategic planning
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal, networking, and communication skills (both written and verbal). Experience working in a global business environment would be highly beneficial.
  • Fluency in English
  • High level of proficiency with Microsoft suite of products (esp. Excel and PowerPoint)
