An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our finance team as a Finance Business Partner to oversee the day-to-day accounting and finance functions of the German properties under ownership and management.

The Finance Business Partner is responsible for managing the smooth running of German hotel financial operations and for providing support to the Area GM EU, GMs, operational managers and financial reporting team.

As Finance Business Partner, you will supervise the German finance team in delivering the monthly Financial and Management information accurately for reporting to internal and external stakeholders, and lead on relationships with external and internal auditors and other consultants / banks.

This is a fast-paced role, well suited to someone who enjoys working to tight deadlines, and who is self-motivated and proactive.

What you'll be doing :

• Review of monthly management accounts including P&L and Balance Sheet in accordance with applicable both Group and local accounting standards and requirements.
• Ensure Group and local accounting policies and procedures are complied with, and financial reports are prepared in a timely and accurate manner.
• Provide commentary on monthly financial performance and variances.
• Be the main finance liaison between Area GM EU, operations at properties and London Head office.
• Lead on relationship with external and internal auditors, other consultants, and banks.
• Ensure VAT returns for all properties are processed accurately within the deadline.
• Prepare and review group consolidations.
• Lead on systems and process efficiency projects.
• Lead on regulatory and statutory requirements including tax returns and payments, local accounts to German regulatory standards and ensure all filing deadlines are met.
• Ensure adequate internal controls and ongoing compliance with group policies / statutory requirements.
• Resolution of finance related queries and provide support to team.
• Lead budgeting and forecasting process with supporting financial analysis, insight and commentary.
• Support and assist the team on the ground as and when needed.
• Ensure accuracy of monthly cashflow forecasts.

What we’re looking for

• Qualified ACA, ACCA, CIMA or similar
• Proven industry experience, preferably in hospitality sector
• Proficient in German language writing / speaking
• Personable, positive, dynamic professional who works flexibly and collaboratively to achieve deadlines, with a roll up sleeves’ to get the job done attitude
• Previous in team management experience
• Proven capability to communicate Financial Information to various stakeholders, especially with non-financial background
• An eye for detail and the ability to identify errors and offer workable solutions
• Strong systems skills with a mindset of continuous improvement
• A disciplined approach to production and documentation of work
• Strong team player who can demonstrate an ability to take ownership of work streams, work independently of senior management oversight and coordinate multiple stakeholders
