Design Manager - Data Centre - Frankfurt

We are currently partnering with a leading global consulting and engineering company that are looking for experienced data centre professionals to join their team. Our client is working with many major developers in the data centre space and require a Design Manager for their Frankfurt location.

Our client offers strategic, tactical, and operational advice to a variety of entities, including colocation data centres, internet service providers, and telecom companies. Their team is composed of experts in diverse fields such as electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, construction, civil engineering, structure, building, architecture, fire safety, control engineering, and security technology.


Responsibilities:
  • Manage scope-of-work, design budget and contract documents for each project;
  • Follow and update design delivery schedule and distribute workload within team;
  • Coordinate and optimize design with multi-disciplinary team and external parties;
  • Lead and challenge design solutions and changes;
  • Create and communicate innovative ideas and designs to client and team.

Requirements:
  • Holds a Master’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering;
  • Has over 5 years of experience managing multidisciplinary design, engineering, and construction projects, preferably in data centres or other relevant sectors;
  • Shows an affinity with digital and automated design and engineering processes (BIM, CDE);
  • Possesses good knowledge of standard practices in the design and construction industry, and a good understanding of the daily (operational) business of clients;
  • Demonstrates excellent communication skills towards colleagues and clients, and is fluent in English (and preferably the local office language – German, Polish, Dutch, Spanish)
