Switchyard Control Engineer SIEMENS (m/w/d)

On behalf of SIEMENS ENERGY, we are looking for a Switchyard Control Engineer (m/f/d) at the Erlangen location on a full-time basis, starting as soon as possible.

Your Tasks:

  • Design of BCU-based substation control systems for high voltage direct current systems (HVDC)
  • Implementation of control software as well as verification using simulation tools and real-time test environments
  • Preparation of design specifications, documentation and effort estimations
  • Clarification of technical requirements within project teams as well as with customers and suppliers
  • Remote support during commissioning and service of HVDC systems
  • Proficiency in parameterisation of bay control units (BCUs), ideally of SIPROTEC 5 devices with DIGSI and CFC (Continuous Flow Chart)
  • Experience in implementing the IEC61850 standard for substation control and for data exchange with higher level automation and SCADA systems

Your Qualification:

  • University degree in electrical engineering with focus on energy technology and first professional experience
  • Proficiency in parameterization of bay control units (BCUs), ideally of SIPROTEC 5 devices with DIGSI and CFC (Continuous Flow Chart)
  • Experience in implementing the IEC61850 standard for substation control and for data exchange with higher level automation and SCADA systems
  • Solid understanding of high voltage and substation technology as well as of the design of interlocking schemes and automated control sequences
  • Good knowledge of secondary interfaces of high voltage components such as switching devices, transformers, CTs and VTs
  • Very good English language skills, proficiency in German is an advantage
