We are looking for an Area Sales Manager (ASM) to join our team. This position will be responsible for Germany and Switzerland and selected Key accounts. The ASM will provide the territory and account responsibilities required to plan, manage, supervise, and coordinate the activities related to the sale and promotion of products and services of the business. This includes maintaining existing accounts and identifying and developing new customers contributing to the new market strategies, advising and guiding the business using the most effective use of resources for the purpose of meeting the territory’s growth goals. Account management capability and a hunter’s ability to win new business will be required in equal measure.

What you will do:

Manage the sales process for the accounts located in the geographical territory as defined by the business. Included in this are the following tasks:

  • Generate new OEM sales opportunities
  • Manage the customer experience and expectations
  • Qualify opportunities and customers through phone calls, video calls and in person meetings
  • Develop new business relationships with customers in served market segments
  • Maintaining and developing existing customer base of the region.
  • Determine the application data required for the customers’ need
  • Identify and communicate technical added value solutions to customers
  • Develop a strategy for winning opportunities
  • Follow-up on all sales opportunities in a timely manner
  • Follow up on quotes and secure purchase orders
  • Communicate the needs of customers to the company through established channels
  • Manage and support the distribution partners in the assigned territory
  • Proactively partner with internal departments to provide accurate information and excellent service to customers
  • Manage interaction between the company and customers. Provide written reports back to the company on significant developments
  • Provide regular business reviews and sales forecasts
  • Maintain an accurate and up to date record of new opportunities in the CRM software
  • Keep Management updated on the progress of new projects and existing accounts
  • Continually compile market information/intelligence to assist in the shaping of future company strategy and product development
  • Other assigned duties as required

We are looking for:

  • Bachelor’s Degree (B.S. or B.A.) in a technical or related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Minimum 3 years’ direct sales experience; demonstrated key account experience highly preferred
  • German and English level C1
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and similar software
  • Excellent internal and external communication skills and strong customer focus
  • Strong organizational and prioritization skills required
  • Demonstrated drive for results and proactive, innovative mindset
  • Must be able to work well within a team or independently and demonstrate initiative to drive for results
  • Strong technical understanding and experience working with OEMs is required
  • Knowledge of brush and brushless DC motors, gearmotors, electronic drives, linear actuators, and related mechatronic components is a plus.
