Senior Accountant – Germany, Belgium & France Flexible / Hybrid / Remote within Europe, preference in Germany Overview The Senior Accountant will be responsible for overseeing accounting operations across Germany, Belgium, and France for a private equity–backed organization. This role ensures accurate financial reporting, strong internal controls, and local statutory compliance. The position requireshands-on accounting expertise, is comfortable working in a changing environment, and has fluency in German and English. Key Responsibilities Accounting & Financial Reporting * Manage and oversee all general ledger accounting activities for Germany, Belgium, and France * Ensure timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual closings * Prepare and review financial statements in accordance with IFRS and applicable local GAAP * Coordinate intercompany accounting and reconciliations across entities * Monthly reporting packages, and ad hoc financial analyses Stakeholder Reporting * Partner closely with corporate finance, external tax advisors * Support reporting requirements, audits, and information requests from colleagues across the organization * Contribute to acquisition integrations as appropriate, and process harmonization Compliance & Statutory Requirements * Ensure compliance with local statutory, tax, and regulatory requirements in Germany, Belgium, and France * Oversee VAT, payroll accounting, and statutory filings in coordination with external advisors * Serve as primary contact for external auditors, tax advisors, and local authorities * Maintain strong internal controls aligned with private equity and group standards Process Improvement * Drive continuous improvement in accounting processes, systems, and controls * Support ERP and system enhancements or implementations as needed Qualifications & Experience Required * Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field * 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including multinational operations * Experience of working with other European local jurisdictions, specifically Germany, while reporting to a US parent-company * Fluent in German and English (written and spoken) * Knowledge of German GAAP (HGB) Preferred * Experience covering Germany, Belgium, and/or France * Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, NetSuite) * Strong Excel skills Competencies * Strong technical accounting and problem-solving skills * Ability to operate in a fast-paced, PE-driven environment * High attention to detail with a pragmatic, business-oriented mindset * Excellent communication skills across cultures and functions * Proven ability to lead people and manage multiple priorities Please send your application to .
