Your Responsibilities :
The Chair of Spacecraft Systems of the Technical University of Munich is working in the field of space systems engineering, spacecraft design and AI applications for space.
Having launched its mission in , it is redefining Spacecraft Design by integrating generative AI into the engineering process, revolutionizing object detection in space by use of neuromorphic cameras and developing novel techniques for NewSpace applications in Low Earth Orbit.
Your activities will include conducting research projects in the field of neuromorphic vision for space applications, by use of AI.
This position is funded by the German Aerospace Center (Deutsches Zentrum für Luft und Raumfahrt, DLR) and the Federal Ministry for Economics and Climate Protection (BMWKI).
Your Qualifications :
- University Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or similar
- Knowledge in ML / AI Methods, including Algorithm Training, Testing, and Deployment
- Strong understanding of computer vision principles and techniques.
- Familiarity with neuromorphic vision systems and their applications in space technology.
- Previous experience with satellite missions, particularly CubeSat missions, is highly appreciated.
- Practical verification and validation experience is appreciated
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Adaptability and willingness to learn and apply new technologies and methods.
- Capability to manage and lead research projects, including planning, execution, and reporting.
- Fluent English Communication spoken and written
- Interest in working in an international team
Our Offer :
We offer a full-time position as academic staff with the opportunity to pursue a doctoral degree. The position will be limited to three years.
