Product Manager Almatec (m / f / d)
As Product Manager, you will be responsible for strategic planning, product portfolio management and marketing of the products in close cooperation with the regional sales teams (DE, EMEA, A / P, Americas) and Global PSG Marketing, and will help to build customer relationships while selling directly in Germany.
You will also work closely with the development department, analyze the market, define the strategy. Your skills should include a mix of business and technical understanding.
POSITION DESCRIPTION
Reports to : Senior Director Product Management and Engineering
Number of employees : The role has no direct reports. Peers are Manufacturing Manager, CS&AE Manager, Sales Manager, Engineering Manager, Marketing Manager, Quality Manager
Tasks, competencies and responsibilities of the function :
The main tasks include developing a comprehensive product strategy, supporting the global sales organization and coordinating the development of new products.
- Create short and long-term strategic plans (1-5 years) including product strategy, product roadmap and overall growth plan.
- Develop new product ideas based on VOCs and sales feedback.
- Create and update the product roadmap and coordinate NPD projects as part of the stage-gate process.
- Develop and expand the product portfolio to support global sales strategies
- Definition of product requirements, sales forecasts, target costs and sales prices.
- Identify market needs, trends, customer satisfaction and buying behavior through regular customer contacts, channel partners and voice-of-customer studies or surveys.
- Regularly analyze profitability at product level and derive cost saving initiatives or price adjustments as required.
- Develop a pricing strategy for existing and new products, also considering competitor products and the market situation.
- Create sales forecasts for new and existing products and conducting the S&OP call for the Sales& Operations plan.
- Support customers, sales and distributors with information, application knowledge and product data.
- Collaborate with the marketing team to support and implement marketing activities and initiatives and participate in trade show events.
- Define and describe the processes in the area of responsibility.
- Organization and implementation of product training for customers and sales partners.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Profile :
- Master’s degree in engineering (mechanical engineering, process engineering or similar) or technical apprenticeship with correspondingly long professional experience.
- Several years of experience in product management, business development or technical sales
- Experience in the field of pump technology or with other technical capital goods.
- High affinity for sales and marketing and a good feel for market and customer needs
- Affinity with the chemical industry and its applications
- Experience in an international environment, ideally in an Anglo-American environment.
- Business fluent in written and spoken English and German.
- Very good knowledge of all common MS Office applications
