2024 / 225. The Department of Linguistics seeks to fill this position by April 1, 2026.The University of Konstanz is one of eleven Universities of Excellence in Germany.
Since 2007 it has been successful in the German Excellence Initiative and its follow-up programme, the Excellence Strategy.
Applicants are expected to have an excellent track record in at least one core area of linguistics (phonology, morphology, syntax or semantics), and a second specialization in a further field such as psycholinguistics or historical linguistics.
The language of specialization should be Italian on the one hand, and French or Spanish on the other.Teaching and supervision obligations extend primarily to the Romance studies programmes (BA, B.
Ed. and M.Ed.), as well as to the MA Linguistics, MA Multilingualism, and Doctoral programmes. The willingness to teach courses in the Romance target language is expected.
Non-German speakers are expected to be able to teach in German no later than three years after commencing the position.Applicants should be able to demonstrate academic achievements comparable to the level of the German Habilitation.
Cooperation with existing research initiatives at the Department of Linguistics and within the University more widely is expected.
