We are looking for an engaged DEI Officer who brings knowledge, experience, and a passion for FSC’s mission, to work with us in a multinational environment.
The role will mainly support the implementation of FSC Framework and Action Plan in Diversity and Gender 2024-2026.
To advance diversity and gender within FSC, a roadmap has been developed through a Strategic Framework and a Green Paper on Gender Equality.
To implement the Strategic Framework on Diversity and Gender 2021-2026, in 2023, FSC started mainstreaming gender and diversity within the organization.
This year, FSC’s multi-year Action Plan on Diversity and Gender is currently being rolled-out. The plan takes a stepwise approach to implement improvements and bring about change in FSC as an organization and as a system, including forests and solutions such as certification processes.
The DEI Officer will work towards the fulfillment of FSC commitments for diversity, gender equity, inclusion and belonging at FSC, in particular regarding the systematic mainstreaming of DEIB within our organization, certification system, membership, and projects at all levels from global to regional.
To support the implementation of FSC’s Action Plan on Diversity and Gender 2024-2026. This includes supporting the implementation of the Action Plan under organization pillar, focusing on FSC International Staff and the workplace.
Additionally, to provide support for implementing the Action Plan under other pillars (certification system, membership, and projects).
The Chief People Officer will provide overall oversight, while technical guidance will be provided by the Senior Manager Diversity and Gender.
Main Roles & Responsibilities
- To support the execution of a multi-year action plan to implement FSC’s strategic framework on diversity and gender in alignment with FSC’s values and business goals within the organization and the FSC system, at all levels.
- To contribute to the development of initiatives and actions plans, raise awareness of DEI efforts, and celebrate diversity achievements throughout the organization.
- To support with coordination and communication on the implementation of the Action Plan across FSC International, regions, network partners, and members for the implementation of the Action Plan.
- To facilitate coordination and communication with Diversity and Gender Core Group and Steering Committee.
- To collaborate with HR, leadership, the DEI Ambassadors and various teams (Works Council, Legal) to integrate DEI principles into recruitment, hiring, onboarding, training, and career development processes under FSC’s organizational priorities.
- To support the development of communication materials and internal guidance on diversity and gender.
- To assist with the capacity development plan, including design, preparation and organization of events, webinars, and interactive discussions / workshops for implementing the Action Plan.
- To assist with collecting data, analysis, and report on the implementation of the Action Plan.
Your profile
Requirements
- University degree in a relevant field, such as gender and / or diversity studies, forestry, sociology, international development / relations, communications, social sciences or similar.
- At least 3 years of relevant professional experience as a DEI Officer, with a focus on implementing successful DEI strategies and programs.
- Proven experience in coordination, communication, analysis and reporting of projects.
- Experience in supporting the design, facilitation and organization of events and webinars.
- Experience in project management in an international setting or forests / natural resource governance would be an asset.
- Demonstrated experience in building partnerships and relationships with external organizations and stakeholders.
- Open mindset and willingness to work with collective ideas generated in a multistakeholder setting.
- Ability to engage, build and maintain strong relationships with people from all backgrounds, genders, cultures, and viewpoints.

The Fine Print
- Location : Bonn, Germany.
- Working Hours : Full time - 40 hours per week.
