The role

As the Interim Senior Engineer Combat you operarte as the prime integrator representative for communication equipment. Being involved in the building of the F126 Frigates for the team German Navy, you part of the F126 Combat System department.

For this assignment we are seeking a professional which can start on short notice and work from the Kiel location in Germany.

Key accountabilities

As the Interim Senior Engineer Combat, your key responsibilities will include :

• Supervising the day-to-day technical and managerial activities of the communication system subcontractors and combat system integrator.
• Reviewing engineering data from the communication system subcontractors, in particular to ensure proper and timely system to platform integration.
• Participating in workshops between the subcontractor and the customer.
• Informing, discussing with, and advising the team lead, technical lead, technical specialists and relevant internal and external stakeholders.
• Supporting the subcontractors contribution to the project(s) during preparation and execution.
• Ensuring full compliance with all applicable requirements and specifications.
• Understanding and contributing to the execution and synchronization of project activities related to all deliverables and obligations of the Subcontractor(s).
• Participating during contractual milestones, tests and trials, such as FAT, HAT and SAT as accepting party on behalf of Damen Naval.
• Assisting the quality department with the closing of actions and issues that have been identified during tests and trials.
• Assisting the technical subcontract manager in defining, establishing and validating (the testing of) functional and physical interfaces.

Skills & experience

To excel as the Interim Senior Combat Engineer, you should possess the following qualifications and qualities :

• 5+ years of hands-on experience in engineering and / or subcontract management related to complex (combat) communication systems, acquired in the shipbuilding or a related industry.
• Fluent in German Language (both written and verbal).
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in a Technical domain.
• Understanding in a variety of engineering concepts (V-model) and practices.
• Excellent references antecedents as a pre-employment security screening is standard part of the recruitment procedure.
• Permanent EU citizenship and passport are both required. Candidates with EU (work) visa or with both an EU and non-EU nationality and / or passport are not eligible in accordance with the requirements imposed by the military nature of our projects.
