Mercator Fellowship for a Journalist in Residence (f / m / d)
The DFG-funded RTG Ambivalent Enmity (ambivalentenmity.org) brings together researchers of different disciplines to discuss the ambivalences of enmity, its processuality and paradoxes and to develop adequate tools to analyze the construction, representation, enactment, and experience of enmity.
The RTG Ambivalent Enmity will award to a journalist who is specialized in political / international conflicts and / or wars a
Autumn / Winter 2024, six weeks to three months
Your responsibilities :
- Working on your own project (book or essay)
- Sharing your experience with the PhD Students in a one-day workshop on Writing on conflicts and enmity
- Holding an internal colloquium on your topic or on the interface between journalism and research
- Participating in all academic events of the RTG
Your profile :
- You are a journalist working in local or national media with many years of experience
- You regularly cover political / international conflicts and / or wars
- You have a strong desire to immerse yourself in your chosen project in dialogue with the researchers at the RTG
We offer :

- A fee contract totaling €5,000 per month
