HO Eurofighter (EF) and Next Generation Fighter (NGF) Weapon System Architecture (d/f/m)
Job Description :
For Airbus Defence and Space in Manching, Germany, we are looking for the Head of EF and NGF Weapon System Architecture.
The Head of Weapon System Architecture leads a team, which has the mission to define safe, reliable, mature and cost effective mission avionics for EF and FCAS NGF, integrating both customer needs as well as new operational capabilities.
The team is responsible for defining architectural concept and managing the technical development with the other internal and external stakeholders (users, chief engineering, other disciplines).
Your main tasks and responsibilities will include :
- Lead a team of System Architect in line with the Airbus leadership model
- Develop the team, ensuring the staff is properly trained for the job and establishing appropriate learning objectives. Coach the team members as needed
- Responsible for the resource capacity planning of the team and execution through appropriate qualified resources
- Responsible for the team to achieve the operational targets, including definition of the associated plans, schedules and deliverables
- Reporting to the superior and project managers with regard to adherence to quality and business targets
- Assistance in the selection of suppliers, ensuring a proper execution of engineering contracts and work to be performed by subcontractors
- Responsible for the preparation of technical offer including costs estimation in the given area of responsibility
- Contributions to the analysis of customer and market requirements
- Collaboration with other functional teams to provide Systems Engineering support for the full lifecycle of the System, from development to in-service support across the product development cycle
- Assess innovative technologies and architectures in the context of R&D / T initiatives and encourage innovation and continuous improvement to ensure Engineering Excellence
REQUIRED SKILLS
We are looking for candidates with the following skills and experience :
- Master Degree in Engineering or equivalent
- Experience in architectural design and leading the development and certification of avionics systems (DO-254 / DO-178c)
- Experience in managing people and able to lead and to motivate people across programs, disciplines and functions
- Experience in multi-national project environment and international teams
- Strong organizational and management skills. He / She must be an excellent communicator
- Self-starter, motivated and able to work with little supervision and in challenging environment
- Fluent in German and knowledge of English at negotiation level
